Why Go to Church?
Question: WHY DO WE GO TO CHURCH?
A wonderful Message today delivered by our pastor.
Yet to all who received him [Jesus Christ], to those believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
Pero may iba na kahit tumanggap na sa Lord and have received the salvation, di pa rin nauunawaan ang pagiging anak ng Diyos.
Some think that it is foolish or bragging when someone claim to be children of God. But it is actually true, when you believed in Jesus Christ you become his son or daughter. He adopted you to become his children and you should live as your Father lives; act properly as His children.
Being God's children in not just accepting and believing in Jesus, but being like Him.
1 John 3:2, which also in my previous cover photo, says, "Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But when we know that when he [Jesus Christ] appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."
Answer: WE GO TO CHURCH BECAUSE WE ARE IMPERFECT AND WE WOULD LIKE TO BE CONNECTED WITH GOD TO BE CHANGED AND BE PURIFIED AND GROW IN THE LIKENESS OF GOD.
Remember, Genesis 1:27. In the beginning, it is God's will that we shall be like Him. He created us in His image and to reflect His glory.
*What we are? We are God's precious ones. Christ died for us. (1 John 3:1, Romans 5)
*What is the privilege of being children of God? Authority and that authority tells us how we should walk in this world. We are NOT powerless!
1 John 4:4-6
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is GREATER than the one who is in the world.
They are from the world and therefore speak from the VIEWPOINT of the world, and the world listens to them.
We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize theSpirit of truth and the spirit if falsehood.
Do not be misled if some people do differently the Christians do. You are children of God , therefore you must live according to God's will. You are separated from the world [sin].
*What we should be? 1 John 3:3, "Everyone who has this HOPE in Him [Jesus Christ] PURIFIES himself, just as He is pure.
We should be pure as God we are serving is pure. "We should be holy as God is holy," the Scripture says.
My reflection: Student ka man, graduate na, working na, may business, may pamilya or ano man ang estado, we shall go to church. Hindi dapat mahinto o mawala ang sistemang ito. We go to church because we are hunger of God. We acknowledge that God is superior in our lives and the time we give to go to church is not only a sacrifial offering but an obedient offering to the Lord. If we have received and believed in Christ we will do this because we are His children. Mga bato pa ba ang masisimba at magpupuri sa Lord?;
We would like to experience the corporate move of God in our lives. We would like to know God better and deeper so that we could always live according to His perfect will and as a result we would be able to live in purity/holiness and righteousness just as He commanded us.
